One year of the European Commission’s AI Pact
OrientaEuro is a voluntary signatory of the AI Pact, alongside 230+ organisations committed to early preparation for the EU AI Act and to the adoption and promotion of responsible and trustworthy AI. In this context, we were invited to take part in the “AI Pact one year event”, bringing together the European Commission and peers to discuss progress, challenges and next steps.
The AI Pact is structured around three core commitments: AI governance, mapping of high-risk AI systems, and AI literacy. These commitments are especially relevant in sensitive contexts such as employability and public services, where AI needs to be approached with care, clarity and responsibility, and where questions of transparency, accountability and human oversight are central to the discussion.
More than a label, the AI Pact is a practical space for learning, exchange and collective progress toward AI that genuinely works for people.
